| The Felt-tips are one of the best dance bands in Mendocino County. All highly experienced musicians, they play rock, blues, Motown, and country standards,
and specialize in danceable beats, vocal harmonies, and tight instrumentals.
They've been playing around Mendocino and Lake counties since the summer of 2004,
and have gained a following for their high-spirited performances and
non-stop dance favorites. The line-up includes guitars, keyboard, sax, drums, and vocals, with each Felt-tip making multiple contributions. The Felt-tips were founded by "Indelible" T.J. Elton on lead vocals, guitar, and keyboards, and "Magic" Marc Levine on vocals and bass. T.J. and Marc have been playing together in Ukiah for the last 8 years. |
On sax, flute and vocals is Henry Leal, who adds some fine solo work. Mike Canovas contributes blazing
lead guitar solos and vocals too. And anchoring the beat is the rock-solid Ray Ashford on drums. Marc the bass player owns a local recording studio, All Ears Audio, and the band is currently recording a CD there. Coincidence? You decide... The Felt-tips play local clubs and taverns, as well as wineries, casinos, special events, and private parties.
